How Does Laser Perforation of Passports Work?
Laser perforation creates security features in a contactless and micrometer-precise manner. It is particularly used for polycarbonate data pages in passports as well as multilayer ID and security cards.
Typical applications include window cutting in the polycarbonate data page and precision dot-matrix passport perforation.
The features are permanently bonded to the material, abrasion-resistant, and tamper-proof. Subsequent modifications are practically only possible with visible damage.
